The Easiest and Cheapest Kitchen Cabinet Organizer in the World!

The lower corner cabinet in my kitchen is a hot mess. It is great for storing small appliances and things I don't use often but still accessible, you know, in case we run into a waffle making emergency or something.

Well, it is accessible in theory.

Most of the time the corner cabinet looks like I shoved stuff in and slammed the door before the pile exploded into the kitchen.

I am not proud of this.

Do you know why?

Because I shove stuff into the cabinet and slam the door before the pile explodes into the kitchen.

One day after rummaging around that messy and disorganized cabinet for way to long to find one of the many pot holders we have (and can't find), I figured it time to do something about this cabinet.

Replacing the cabinet with the weird angle with a super sweet lazy Susan corner cabinet is not on the agenda because I'd have to replace all of the lower cabinets too. And while I'm at it, the uppers, counter tops  sink... well major kitchen remodel. It will happen, but not today.

The pull out corner cabinet organizers didn't fit inside my cabinet. Bummer.

I went with Plan E and I'm glad I did. I organized my kitchen cabinets with tap lights like this one! (I am including affiliate links in this post for your convenience.)

Update: 3/27/2017: I replace the tap light with a battery operated motion sensor light like this one  that automatically shuts off when I close the cupboard door because I kept forgetting to turn the tap light off and kept killing the batteries.

The reason I root around and mess up the cabinet is because it so dark I can't see what I need. The tap light solves the problem. Punch the light, find what you need, and go.

I use rechargeable batteries, since I sometimes forget to turn the punch light off. I keep a spare set of batteries charged and ready to replace them just in case.

Now that I can see inside the cabinet more easily, I took advantage of the situation to clean and reorganize the corner cabinet.

Pin this idea for later!
