Russian Black Bread Recipe

I love dark bread especially during the winter.

I can find rye bread at the grocery store.  Russian Black bread? Not so much.

When I do, Russian Black Bread is too expensive to use as everyday sandwich bread.

With the help of my trusty bread maker, I learned to make Russian Black Bread for pennies instead of buying it for several dollars.

1 tablespoon of caraway seeds
¼ teaspoon of fennel seeds

Make it:

1. Select the 1 pound loaf size on your bread machine (if applicable.)
2. Add the ingredients in the order listed and according to the manufacturer’s directions. 3. Start the bread machine and wait until done.

That looks delicious. I've been looking for a good, coarse, hearty dark bread. I'll have to expand the recipe to four loaves. Looks great!
Cranberry Morning - It is a good hearty dark bread. I LOVE using it for grilled cheddar cheese sandwiches.
